Audi is pulling weight out of its A8 limousine and sticking in more power in an effort to stem the expected upsurge from Mercedes-Benz’s all-new S-Class, also being unveiled for the first time at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Volvo has taken its next step towards green motoring, launching a joint venture with Swedish energy company Vattenfall to introduce plug-in hybrid cars to the market – sporting CO2 emissions as low as 50g/km. The cars, which will role out across Sweden in 2012, will be manufactured by Volvo, with Vattenfall developing the charging systems and supplying the cars with electricity. Vattenfall will be offering customers the chance to sign an agreement for renewable electricity sourced from windpower or hydropower.
José Mourinho and the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe
The new Jaguar F-Type Coupe seems to have been around for ages already, but last night was actually its official UK launch, despite being revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show three months ago. Jaguar roped in a number of its ‘Ambassadors’ for the event at East Winter Garden in Canary Wharf including its newest recruit, Chelsea manager José Mourinho, who is due to get the first customer F-Type Coupe in the UK next month. Jaguar took the opportunity to use its latest advert ‘Rendezvous’ featuring Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong as a trio of villainous Brits that first aired in the US during the recent Super Bowl, to kick proceedings off and add life to the #GoodToBeBad campaign.
